Ingredients

 
4 packages (6 ounces each) milk chocolate pieces or semisweet chocolate pieces
 
2 cups (1 pint) light corn syrup
 
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
 
1/2 cup cream, brandy, or rum
 
Assorted dippers (marshmallows, strawberries with hull, apple slices, banana chunks, pineapple chunks, mandarin orange segments, cherries with stems, cake cubes, melon balls)

Directions

1. Combine chocolate pieces and corn syrup in a heavy saucepan. Heat and stir until chocolate melts and mixture is smooth.
2. Add vanilla extract (omit if using brandy or rum) and cream; stir until well blended. Turn into a fondue pot and keep hot.
3. To serve, surround fondue pot with small bowls of dippers. Provide fondue forks for guests to spear dippers, then dip into fondue.
