Ingredients

8 ounces Semi-sweet Baking Chocolate

3 ounces White Baking Chocolate

4 tablespoons shortening (butter flavored Crisco), divided

1 pound (1 carton) Strawberries (long stemmed)

Directions

Wash and gently pat dry strawberries. Trim a small portion off each of the long stems. Lay strawberries on a tray lined with a paper towel to keep drying. Unwrap that sweet smelling chocolate and chop it into smaller pieces. Chop and keep semi-sweet and white chocolate separate. In a pot (or bottom of double boiler), add about 1-2 inches of water (3 cups) and bring to a boil (with High heat). Once boiling, reduce heat (Medium-Low heat) to a small simmer. Place a glass bowl (or top of the double boiler), on top and into the pot. Add semi-sweet chocolate and 2 tablespoons of shortening to the bowl. Stir continuously until melted and smooth (about 2 minutes). Turn off heat and remove bowl from pot. By holding onto the stem, roll strawberries one by one in the chocolate and set on a tray lined with wax paper to harden chocolate. Melt white chocolate and shortening together following the exact steps as for the semi-sweet chocolate. Drizzle melted white chocolate over each strawberry with a small spoon. Store strawberries in a cool location until you are ready to satisfy your sweet tooth on Valentine’s Day or any other day!
