Directions

Cream together brown sugar and softened butter or margarine.
Add egg, milk, and vanilla; beat well.
Stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
Add to creamed mixture; beat well.
Stir in chocolate pieces.
Spread in greased 9x9x2-inch baking pan.
Bake at 350°for 30 to 35 minutes.
Cool; cut into bars.
