Chocolate Cherry Nougat Recipe
Ingredients
| 12 oz. (300 g) nougat | ||
| Semi-sweet chocolate | 4 Ounce | |
| Almonds | 1 Cup (16 tbs), sliced | |
| Generous 1/4 cup (40 g) chopped pistachio nuts | ||
| Candied lemon peel | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs), finely chopped | |
| Cherries | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), coarsely chopped | |
| 2 teaspoons cherry brandy | ||
| Unsweetened chocolate | 8 Ounce | |
Directions
Line an 8-1/2x4-1/2-inch (22x11-cm) loaf pan with foil.
Melt nougat and semisweet chocolate in a double boiler over low heat.
Stir almonds, pistachios, candied peel and cherries and cherry brandy into chocolate mixture.
Put mixture into prepared loaf pan; smooth the surface.
Refrigerate until set.
Melt unsweetened chocolate in a double boiler over low heat.
Remove chocolate nougat from pan when set; strip off foil.
Coat nougat with melted chocolate.
Let set.
Cut nougat into 1/4-inch (5-mm) slices before serving.
