Chocolate Cherry Nougat Recipe

Ingredients
12 oz. (300 g) nougat
4 oz. (100 g) Semisweet chocolate
1 cup (100 g) sliced almonds
Generous 1/4 cup (40 g) chopped pistachio nuts
1/3 cup (50 g) finely chopped candied lemon peel
1/2 cup (100 g) coarsely chopped candied cherries
2 teaspoons cherry brandy
8 oz. (200 g) unsweetened chocolate
Directions
Line an 8-1/2x4-1/2-inch (22x11-cm) loaf pan with foil.
Melt nougat and semisweet chocolate in a double boiler over low heat.
Stir almonds, pistachios, candied peel and cherries and cherry brandy into chocolate mixture.
Put mixture into prepared loaf pan; smooth the surface.
Refrigerate until set.
Melt unsweetened chocolate in a double boiler over low heat.
Remove chocolate nougat from pan when set; strip off foil.
Coat nougat with melted chocolate.
Let set.
Cut nougat into 1/4-inch (5-mm) slices before serving.
