Ingredients

 Semi-sweet chocolate6 Ounce, chopped
 2 large or 3 small very ripe bananas
 Butter12 Tablespoon, softened
 Sugar1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
 Vanilla extract1 Teaspoon
 Eggs2 Large
 All purpose flour2 1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Baking powder2 Teaspoon
 Baking soda1/2 Teaspoon
 Salt1/4 Teaspoon
 Pecans and walnuts1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped

Directions

Heat the oven to 400 degrees.
Lightly butter 2 baking sheets.
Melt the chocolate in the top of a double boiler over hot water, stirring occasionally.
Remove from the heat.
Mash the bananas to a smooth pulp.
Beat the butter until it is smooth.
Beat in both the sugars and the vanilla.
Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the butter mixture, mixing only until they are incorporated.
Add the mashed bananas and the chocolate and stir until smooth.
Stir in the nuts, if you are using them.
Drop the batter onto the baking sheets in rounded teaspoonfuls, 2 inches apart.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the cookies spring back when lightly touched.
Leave the cookies on the sheets for 2 to 3 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool.
Bake the remaining batter in the same way.
