Chocolate Almond Surprises Recipe
Ingredients

| Granulated Sugar | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1/2 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar | ||
| Eggs | 2 | |
| Vanilla extract | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Almond extract | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Flour | 3 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Baking soda | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Almond paste | 8 Ounce | |
| 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips | ||
| Powdered sugar | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Directions
1. In a medium bowl, beat together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar with an electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Blend in vanilla and almond extract.
2. In a small bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, and salt until well mixed. Add to butter-sugar mixture and blend well. Cover and refrigerate dough 30 minutes, or until firm.
3. Preheat oven to 350°F. Using about 1/4 teaspoon almond paste at a time, shape into 48 equal-size balls. Press 3 or 4 chocolate chips into almond paste. Wrap about 1 tablespoon chilled dough around each ball of filling, pinching to enclose completely.
4. Place about 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheets. Bake 10 minutes, or until lightly browned. Let stand 2 minutes on cookie sheets, then remove to a rack to cool. When cool, roll in powdered sugar.
