Chocolate Almond Spritz Wafers Recipe
Ingredients

| Powdered sugar | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Butter/Margarine | 1 Cup (16 tbs), softened | |
| Egg | 1 | |
| Almond extract | 1 Teaspoon | |
| All purpose flour | 2 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| GLAZE | ||
| Semi-sweet chocolate | 8 Ounce | |
| Shortening | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Sliced almonds | ||
Directions
GETTING READY
1. Preheat oven to 350°F
MAKING
2. In large bowl, cream the butter and powdered sugar using an electric mixer until light and fluffy; add egg and almond extract and beat well to combine; turn it into a dough with flour and salt
3.Fill cookie press with the dough and form four strips the length of an ungreased cookie sheet, using the bar plate; score the dough at two and a half inch intervals and bake for five minutes
4.Cut the strips into individual cookies following the scored lines ad cool completely, removing from the sheet and lining the sheets with waxed paper
5. In a small saucepan, melt together chocolate and shortening over low flame, remove from the heat and set in hot water so that the dipping consistence doesn't change
6. Dip half the cookies into the chocolate, dip off excess and palce on the cookie sheet and sprinkle almond slices over the chocolate; allow the glaze to set before serving
