Chocolate After Dinner Mint Squares Recipe
Ingredients
| Unsweetened chocolate square | 3 | |
| Butter | 6 Tablespoon | |
| Egg | 1 | |
| Granulated Sugar | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Peppermint extract | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Flour | 6 Tablespoon | |
| Salt | 1 Pinch | |
| Powdered sugar | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1 tablespoon creme de menthe | ||
| 1/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips, melted | ||
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F. In a glass bowl in a microwave oven on High or in a double boiler over hot water, melt chocolate and butter, stirring until smooth and blended.
2. In a medium bowl, beat egg with an electric mixer on medium speed until frothy. Beat in granulated sugar and peppermint extract. Beat in chocolate butter until blended. Mix in flour and salt. Turn into a greased 8-inch square pan, leveling surface.
3. Bake 10 to 15 minutes, until cake tester inserted in center comes out clean. Remove to a rack to cool 5 minutes.
4. In a small bowl, stir together powdered sugar and creme de menthe until of spreading consistency. Spread over cooled base, then drizzle with melted chocolate. Let cool completely before cutting into 36 squares.
