Choco Mint Pie Recipe
Yummy homemade Choco Mint Pie is another thing all together. Surprise your guest and family with your homemade Choco Mint Pie, I am sure they would not have tasted anything like it!
Ingredients
1/2 cup sugar
1 envelope unflavored gelatin
Dash salt
1 cup milk
2 1-ounce squares unsweetened chocolate, cut up
3 slightly beaten egg yolks
1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
3 egg whites
1/4 cup sugar
1 pint frozen whipped dessert topping, thawed
1 baked 9-inch pastry shell
Crushed peppermint stick candy (optional)
Directions
In medium saucepan combine 1/2 cup sugar, unflavored gelatin, and salt.
Add milk and unsweetened chocolate.
Cook and stir over low heat till gelatin is dissolved and chocolate is melted.
Remove from heat; stir a small amount of hot mixture into slightly beaten egg yolks.
Return to saucepan; cook and stir till mixture thickens and bubbles.
Remove from heat; stir in peppermint extract.
Cool till chocolate mixture is partially set.
In small mixing bowl beat egg whites till soft peaks form; gradually add the 14 cup sugar.
Beat till stiff peaks form.
Fold into partially set chocolate mixture.
Fold in thawed frozen whipped dessert topping.
Turn mixture into baked pastry shell.
Chill till filling is set.
Garnish top of pie with additional whipped dessert topping and crushed peppermint stick candy, if desired.
