Ingredients
2 packages frozen artichoke hearts
1 1/2 cups ripe olives, pitted
6 tablespoons butter
6 tablespoons flour
1 1/2 cups milk
1/2 to 1 teaspoon salt, depending on the saltiness of the chipped beef
2 cups sour cream
1/2 cup dry white wine
1 cup shredded chipped beef
Directions
1. Cook the artichoke hearts according to package directions and drain.
2. Cut the olives into small pieces.
3. Melt the butter in a saucepan, add the flour and stir with a wire whisk until blended. Meanwhile bring the milk to a boil and add all at once to the butter-flour mixture, stirring vigorously with the whisk. When the mixture is thickened and smooth, add the salt, sour cream, wine, beef, olives and artichoke hearts.
4. Heat the mixture until it is piping hot, but do not boil.
