Ingredients

 Butter/Margarine1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Garlic1 Clove (5gm), finely chopped
 1 envelope Lipton Onion, Onion-Mushroom, Beefy
 Mushroom or Beefy Onion Soup Mix
 Tomato puree1 Can (10oz)
 Brown sugar1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Soy sauce1/4 Cup (16 tbs)
 White vinegar1/4 Cup (16 tbs)
 Chili Sauce1/4 Cup (16 tbs)
 5 pounds spareribs, country-style or back ribs

Directions

GETTING READY
1. Preheat the oven to 375ºF
2. Line a large shallow roasting pan or broiler rack with aluminum foil.

MAKING
3. In a heavy bottom saucepan, melt the butter over medium flame.
4. When the butter starts foaming, add the garlic and the soup mix and sauté till garlic is lightly browned.
5. Add the other ingredients except the ribs and stir to blend.
6. Bring the sauce to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent the sauce from sticking to the pan.
7. Remove pan off the heat and set aside for later use.
8. Assemble the spareribs in the roasting pan.
9. Place the ribs in the oven and bake for 20 minutes.

FINALIZING
10. Remove the pan from the oven and generously pour the prepared sauce over the ribs.
11. Return the pan to the oven and bake the ribs for another 50-60 minutes till the meat is tender. Baste the ribs with the sauce in the pan while cooking.

SERVING
12. Place the ribs on a serving platter and spoon the sauce from the pan over them.
13. Serve them hot.
