Authentic Chinese Plum Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
| 10 dark plums | ||
| Hot water | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Water | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 3 tbsps. soya jam | ||
| 2 tbsps. castor sugar | ||
| Vinegar | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Chilli powder | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Five spice powder | 1 Teaspoon | |
Directions
Place the plums in a pan and pour the hot water over them.
Leave covered for 20 minutes.
Peel the skin from the plums, remove the centre stone and cut into halves.
Simmer in a pan with 1/2 cup water.
Stir and cook for 10 minutes.
Add sugar, soya jam, vinegar, chilli powder and spices.
Stir well.
Remove from fire and allow to cool.
Store in a refrigerator.
