Chinese Chicken Wings Recipe

Served as an appetizer in most Chinese restaurants and take outs, this version is a no brainer. Just marinade, place on a pan and roast in the oven 30 minutes.

Recipe Story

I like theses wings better than Buffalo style. Marinaded in soy and Hoisin sauce gives these wings a decidedly Chinese flavor.(Hoisin sauce is available in all grocery stores in the Asian section, it is Chinese Barbecue Sauce). While most Chinese restaurants fry them so they can serve them quickly as an appetizer before the main meal, this version takes longer and makes a big batch at one time.

Ingredients

Chicken wings (12 or as many as you want)

3 ounces soy sauce

3 ounces Hoisin sauce

Directions

Combine the two sauces and stir to blend them together.
Place the wings in a large bowl and pour the marinade over them.
Stir everything until all the chicken is thoroughly coated.
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 6 hours. (overnight is OK)
TIME TO COOK
Preheat your oven to 325 degrees. Spread the wings single layer on a baking sheet. I put down a piece of aluminum foil first so clean up is easy. Put the wings on the middle rack of the oven and cook for 30 minutes. Best served immediately, but left overs can be refrigerated and reheated in the microwave.
