Chinese Chicken Skewers Recipe
Ingredients
| 500 g/1 lb boneless chicken cut into 2 pieces | ||
| 2 bell peppers cut into 1 1/2 pieces | ||
| 1 onion cut into 1 1/2 pieces | ||
| MARINADE | ||
| Egg white | 1 | |
| 1 1/2 tsp red chilli sauce | ||
| Tomato ketchup | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Vinegar | 3 Tablespoon | |
| 2 tsp soya sauce | ||
| 1 tbsp white or red wine | ||
| Cornstarch | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Garlic – ginger paste | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Ground pepper | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Oil | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Red chillies | 3 , crushed | |
Directions
Wash the chicken pieces and pat dry on a kitchen towel mix all ingredients of the marinade in a bowl.
Add chicken and mix well.
Marinate the chicken covered for atleast 2 hours in the refrigerator.
Oil the barbecue plate/rack.
Preheat barbecue to medium heat.
Remove the chicken from the marinade and add the onion and bell peppers.
Mix very well.
Skewer the chicken pieces, alternating with a bell pepper and an onion piece.
Cook the skewers on the lightly oiled barbecue, for about 20 minutes, or until chicken is tender.
Baste them fequently with oil and keep turning skewers in between till chicken is tender.
Remove from skewers with the help of a thick kitchen napkin.
Add chicken and mix well.
