Ingredients

 Beef Patties
 Dried black mushrooms4
 Lean ground beef1 pound
 Onion1/2 Small, finely chopped
 1/2 small green bell pepper, seeded and diced
 Water chestnuts1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped
 Green onion1 , thinly sliced
 Soy sauce2 Tablespoon
 2 tablespoons oyster-flavored sauce
 1 tablespoon chopped cilantro (Chinese parsley), optional
 Sesame oil2 Teaspoon
 Minced ginger1 Teaspoon
 Salt1/4 Teaspoon
 Black pepper1/4 Teaspoon
 2 teaspoons vegetable oil Hamburger buns, split and toasted or cooked rice or noodles

Directions

Soak mushrooms in warm water to cover for 30 minutes; drain.
Cut off and discard stems and chop caps.
Combine mushrooms and remaining patty ingredients in a medium bowl and mix well.
Divide mixture into 4 patties, each about 4 inches in diameter.
Place a heavy skillet over high heat until hot.
Add vegetable oil, swirling to coat surface.
Add patties and cook for 3 minutes on each side for medium rare.
Serve patties in buns, or serve alongside rice or noodles.
