Chinese Beef And Tomatoes Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 1/2 pounds round steak, cut paper-thin | ||
| 1/4 cup plus 3 tablespoons soy sauce | ||
| Sugar | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Garlic | 1 Clove (5gm), crushed | |
| Ginger | 3/4 Teaspoon | |
| Salad oil | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 2 green peppers, seeded and cut into julienne strips | ||
| 3 large tomatoes, peeled and cut into eighths | ||
| Cornstarch | 2 Teaspoon | |
Directions
Marinate meat in a mixture of 1/4 cup soy sauce and sugar for 1/2 hour.
Meanwhile, cook garlic and ginger in oil for a few minutes.
Add green peppers.
Saute, stirring constantly, for a few minutes.
Add beef and liquid.
Cook another few minutes.
Add tomatoes.
Cover.
Simmer a few minutes until tomatoes are hot.
Blend cornstarch with 3 tablespoons soy sauce.
Stir into mixture.
Cook 1 minute more until thickened.
