Baked Ribs with Chinese 5 Spice Recipe Video
Chinese 5 Spice Ribs are wonderfully flavored with an aromatic Chinese spice mix, five spice powder. These fried and crispy, pork ribs are delicious with a blend of sugar, oyster sauce, Shao Xing cooking wine, ginger, garlic and Cerrano pepper. Serve the Chinese 5 Spice Ribs over the cooked rice and garnish with a few green onions for a perfect meal. Enjoy!!
Ingredients
| Beef ribs | 2 Pound | |
| Chinese five spice | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | To Taste | |
| Pepper | To Taste | |
| Brown sugar | 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs) | |
| Oyster sauce | 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs) | |
| Cooking wine | 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs) (Shao Xing) | |
| Garlic cloves | 6 Clove (30 gm) | |
| Sliced ginger | 1 Inch | |
| Cerrano pepper | 1 , sliced (Deseeded) |
Directions
1) In a glass baking dish place the ribs and rub with the Chinese five spice and little salt.
2) In a bowl, add the sliced pepper, ginger, garlic cloves, brown sugar, oyster sauce and Shao Xing cooking wine, mix well.
3) In a skillet, brown the ribs, then add the mixture and bring to a simmer, then remove in a casserole.
4) Cover and cook in a 350 Degrees F preheated oven for 1 1/2 hours.
5) Then raise the oven temperature to 400 Degrees F and cook further for 1/2 hour, turning the ribs every 5 minutes.
6) Serve the ribs over the cooked rice and garnish with a few green onions.
