Chilled Chocolate Almond Souffle Recipe

Ingredients
1 envelope unflavored gelatin
3/4 cup sugar, divided
3 eggs, separated
1 cup milk
2 squares (1 oz. ea.) unsweetened chocolate, melted
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
1 cup heavy cream, whipped
Directions
Mix gelatin and 1/2 cup sugar in large glass bowl.
Stir in egg yolks beaten with milk.
Cook at MEDIUM-LOW 5 to 6 minutes, or until gelatin is dissolved, stir occasionally.
With wire whip, stir in chocolate and almond extract; chill until mixture mounds slightly.
Stir occasionally.
Meanwhile, beat egg whites until soft peaks form; gradually add remaining sugar and beat until stiff.
Fold in chocolate-almond mixture; fold in whipped cream.
Turn into small souffle dish with 2-inch collar or 6-cup bowl and chill until firm.
Garnish, if desired, with slivered almonds and additional whipped cream
