Chili Burgers Recipe

Ingredients
| 1 1/2 pounds ground turkey or very lean beef | ||
| 3/4 cup uncooked quick-cooking oats | ||
| Onion | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| 1/4 cup ketchup or tomato sauce | ||
| 2 tablespoons chopped canned chilies, mild or hot | ||
| 1 egg or 1/4 cup prepared egg substitute | ||
| 1/2 teaspoon each dried cilantro, ground cumin, and salt | ||

| Hamburger buns | 6 , toasted | |
Directions
Mix together all the burger ingredients and form the meat into 6 patties.
The recipe can be prepared ahead and refrigerated or frozen until needed.
If frozen, thaw in the refrigerator or, better yet, in a few minutes in a microwave oven on the defrost setting.
Broil or grill the patties 5 minutes per side for well-done turkey or medium-rare beef.
Cutting a patty is the only sure test that they are done to perfection.
