Ingredients

 Ground beef4 Pound
 Lean pork2 Pound
 Onions6 Cup (16 tbs), chopped
 Celery1/4 Cup (16 tbs), diced
 Tomatoes-8 cups (four 1-pound cans)
 Tomato puree-4 cups (two 1-pound cans)
 Kidney beans-16 cups (eight 1-pound cans), undrained
 Salt1/4 Cup (16 tbs)
 Chili powder1/2 Cup (16 tbs)

Directions

MAKING
1. Heat the broiler.
2. In a large ovenproof pan, add oil and brown the meat under the broiler.
3. Pour off the pan drippings in to a large kettle and add the onion and celery to the kettle. Cook this for five minutes
4. Add the meat to the kettle and mix well
5. Tip in the rest of the ingredients and cook uncovered on low heat for 2 hours till done. Stir frequently to ensure that it does not stick

SERVING
6. Serve hot in individual bowls.
