Chili Con Carne Recipe
Ingredients
| Ground beef | 4 Pound | |
| Lean pork | 2 Pound | |
| Onions | 6 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Celery | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs), diced | |
| Tomatoes-8 cups (four 1-pound cans) | ||
| Tomato puree-4 cups (two 1-pound cans) | ||
| Kidney beans-16 cups (eight 1-pound cans), undrained | ||
| Salt | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Chili powder | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Directions
MAKING
1. Heat the broiler.
2. In a large ovenproof pan, add oil and brown the meat under the broiler.
3. Pour off the pan drippings in to a large kettle and add the onion and celery to the kettle. Cook this for five minutes
4. Add the meat to the kettle and mix well
5. Tip in the rest of the ingredients and cook uncovered on low heat for 2 hours till done. Stir frequently to ensure that it does not stick
SERVING
6. Serve hot in individual bowls.
