Ingredients
24 chicken wings
2 teaspoons salad oil
1/2 cup diced onion
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 cup diced celery
1/2 cup diced green pepper
3/4 cup water
1 cup smoke-flavoured barbecue sauce or ketchup
2 tablespoons vinegar
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Directions
Clip off tips of chicken wings.
Heat oil in deep 2 quart saucepan and brown wings slowly a few at a time.
Remove chicken; add onion and garlic and saute until transparent.
Return wings to pot.
In a separate pan, mix remaining ingredients; bring to boil and pour over wings.
Simmer wings, covered, for 10 minutes.
Pour into casserole and bake at 350°F for one hour or until tender.
Baste occasionally and add more water if necessary.
Serve with rice or mashed potatoes.
