Sour Cream Chicken Paprika Recipe

Ingredients
6 chicken sections or 1 Ige. chicken
2 onions, sliced
1 small can mushrooms, drained
1 tbsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. each salt and pepper
1/4 c. shortening
1 c. hot water
1/2 pt. sour cream
1 tbsp. flour
1 1/2 tbsp. cold water
1 tsp. lemon juice
Directions
Brown chicken, onions, mushrooms and seasonings in shortening for 10 minutes.
Drain off excess fat.
Add hot water; cover and let simmer until tender, about 30 minutes.
Remove chicken to hot platter and keep hot.
To the liquid remaining in the skillet, add sour cream and heat.
Stir in the flour which has been blended with cold water; let thicken.
Stir in lemon juice; pour over chicken.
Arrange hot ribbon noodles around the sides of serving platter.
Beef, meatballs or veal may be substituted for chicken.
