Chicken Fricassee With Lemon Dumplings Recipe
Chicken fricassee with lemon dumplings are a flavorful and lemony chicken dish is best eaten with hot cooked long grained rice. Ingredients
4 chicken drumsticks
1 cup water
1/4 cup diced celery
1 tablespoon chopped onion
1 teaspoon chicken-flavored gravy base
1/2 teaspoon salt
Dash pepper
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 10 ounce package (about 1 cup) frozen mixed vegetables

Directions
In 2 quart saucepan, simmer drumsticks with the 1 cup water, the celery, onion, gravy base, salt, and pepper for 20 minutes or till chicken is tender.
Blend flour and 1/2 cup cold water; stir into broth.
Cook and stir over medium heat, till gravy thickens.
Stir in vegetables.
Meanwhile, for Lemon Dumplings: Combine 1/3 cup all purpose flour, 1/2 teaspoon baking powder, and 14 teaspoon salt.
Combine 1/4 cup milk, 1/2 teaspoon snipped parsley, 1/4 tea spoon grated lemon peel, and 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice.
Add to dry ingredients; stir just till moistened.
Drop batter in mounds atop bubbling hot chicken mixture.
Cover; simmer 20 minutes.
