Baked Chicken Fricarole Recipe
Whip up this delicious Chicken Fricarole that will have everyone reaching the bowl for seconds. This easy and simple recipe is something new to try for those special occasions and tastes fabulous to impress your guests!
Ingredients
Stewed Chicken – 5-6 pounds, disjointed
Celery – 1 stalk, cut into pieces
Parsley – 2 tablespoons, finely chopped
Onion – 1 small, thinly sliced
Bay Leaf – 1
Peppercorns – 6
Salt – 2 teaspoons
Onions – ½ cup, finely chopped
Chicken Fat or Butter – 2 tablespoons
Medium Wide Noodles – 1 pound (two 8 ounce packages)
Asparagus – 2 cups, cooked and cut into 1 inch pieces
Cooked Ham – 1 cup, diced
Stuffed Olives – ½ cup, sliced
Canned Cream of Chicken Soup – 1 (10 ½ ounce)
American cheese – 1 cup, grated
Directions
GETTING READY
1) Preheat the oven to 350F
MAKING
2) Take a casserole and place the chicken with the celery, parsley, sliced onion, bay leaf, peppercorns and salt
3) Add water to cover the chicken
4) Cover the casserole with a lid and bake in the oven for 2 hours at 350F
5) Pour the broth in a separate bowl, discarding the peppercorns and bay leaf
6) In a frying pan, add in the fat and sauté the onions till tender
7) Follow the directions given on the noodles packet and cook accordingly
8) Top the chicken with the noodles, asparagus pieces, ham, onions and olives
9) In a bowl mix in the soup and ½ cup cheese
10) Pour over the chicken mixture
11) Add in more cheese
12) Place in the oven to bake for 45 minutes till the liquid is bubbling hot and the chicken is browned lightly
