Chicken With Dumplings Recipe

Directions
Place the hens in 4 cups water in a large kettle and add the salt, pepper, celery, onions and cloves.
Bring to a boil and cover, then reduce the heat.
Simmer for about 1 hour or until the hens are tender.
Remove and discard the skin and bones, then cut the chicken in bite-sized pieces.
Strain the broth into a large kettle and add the chicken pieces.
Roll out the dumpling dough and cut in 2-inch strips.
Drop the dumplings into the broth and bring to a boil.
Spoon immediately into hot sterilized pint jars.
Place the lids and rings on the jars and tighten.
Process at 10 pounds pressure for 1 hour.
