1)In a bowl, mix tomato sauce, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, salt, Tabasco, salad oil and finely chopped onions.
2)On a grate set, arrange the chicken halves or quarters, skin side up. The grate must be 3 to 6 inches from hot coals.
3)Apply the freshly made sauce over the chicken pieces.
4)Grill till the chicken becomes cooked and tender. Turn the chicken occasionally, basting it with sauce.
5)Serve hot with a dipping sauce.
Expect to cook between 45 to 1 ¼ hours. It depends upon the weight of the chicken and its distance from the hot coals.
When the chicken is done, the leg would easily twist out of the thigh joint and the flesh would be tender.
