Chicken Cacciatore With White Wine Recipe
Ingredients
| Fryer chicken | 3 pound | |
| Cooking oil | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Onions | 2 Medium, sliced | |
| Garlic | 2 Clove (5gm), minced | |
| Tomatoes | 1 16 Ounce | |
| Tomato sauce | 1 8 Ounce | |
| 1 teaspoon dried oregano or basil, crushed | ||
| Celery seed | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| 1 or 2 bay leaves | ||
| Dry white wine | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Directions
In skillet brown chicken in hot oil.
Remove chicken.
In same skillet cook onion and garlic till onion is tender.
Return chicken to skillet.
Combine un-drained tomatoes, tomato sauce, oregano, celery seed, bay leaves, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon pepper.
Pour over chicken.
Cover; simmer 30 minutes.
Stir in wine.
Cook chicken, uncovered, till tender, about 15 minutes more; turn often.
Remove bay leaves; skim off fat.
Remove chicken.
