Chicken Cacciatore Recipe
Ingredients
| Chicken- 1no, about 2 1/2 pounds, skinned and cut up | ||
| Paprika | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Oregano | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Onion- 4 ounces, chopped (1 medium-sized onion) | ||
| Garlic | 2 Clove (5gm) | |
| Tomato juice | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Bay leaf | 1 , crushed | |
| Fresh Mushrooms- 1/4 pound or Cannned- 4-or 5-ounce, drained | ||
| Green Peppers- 2nos, cut in strips | ||
| Salt | 1 To taste | |
| Bean sprouts | 1 Can (10oz) | |
Directions
GETTING READY
1) Sprinkle the chicken with paprika and oregano.
2) In a non-stick pan, place the onion and garlic.
3) Put the lid on and simmer for 5 minutes .
MAKING
4) Place the chicken on top of onion and brown over high heat, turn as required.
5) Stir in paprika, oregano, tomato juice, bay leaf, mushrooms, green peppers and salt.
FINALIZING
6) Taste for seasoning and add more oregano if needed.
7) Put the lid and simmer for 1 hour or until tender.
SERVING
8) Serve the Chicken Cacciatore hot over the bed of bean sprouts.
