Chewy Cookie Bars Recipe
It's hard to stop drooling at the very mention of Chewy Cookie Bars! The raisins and walnuts are a great combination in this. Simple and quick, this is my Mama's recipe for these delicious bars.
Ingredients
Eggs - 2
Brown sugar - 1 cup, firmly packed
Shortening - 1/4 cup, melted
Sifted flour - 3/4 cup
Baking powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
Cinnamon - 1/2 teaspoon
Vanilla - 1/2 teaspoon
Seedless raisins - 1 cup
Walnuts - 1/2 cup, chopped
Directions
GETTING READY
1) Grease a 9-inch-square pan.
MAKING
2) In a bowl, add eggs and beat well.
3) Add in the sugar and shortening.
4) Combine and sift the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
5) Mix into the egg mix.
6) Stir in the vanilla, raisins, and nuts.
7) Transfer into the square pan.
8) Place in the oven at 350° F and bake for 30 minutes.
9) Cool in a pan.
SERVING
10) Cut into bars and serve.
