Chewy Chocolate-Oat Cookies Recipe
|Margarine/Butter||1 Cup (16 tbs), softened (About 2 Sticks)|
|Firmly packed brown sugar||1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)|
|Granulated sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|All purpose flour||1 3⁄4 Cup (28 tbs)|
|Baking soda||1 Teaspoon|
|Quaker oats||2 1⁄2 Cup (40 tbs) (Use Quick Or Old Fashioned, Uncooked)|
|Semi sweet chocolate pieces||12 Ounce (1 Package, About 2 Cups)|
|Chopped nuts||1 Cup (16 tbs)|

Beat together margarine and sugars until creamy.
Add eggs, milk and vanilla; beat well.
Add combined flour, baking soda and salt; mix well.
Stir in oats, chocolate pieces and nuts; mix well.
Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 9 to 10 minutes for a chewy cookie or 12 to 13 minutes for a crisp cookie.
Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet; remove to wire rack.
Store tightly covered.
