Cheese Pie Recipe

My longing for Chess Pie strengthened during high school days. The primary ingredient in Chess Pie is always Cheese. I just love Dessert recipes and this dish is my only favorite amongst them. You will be tempted to prepare this Chess Pie recipe again.

Ingredients

 
5 tablespoons butter or margarine
 
3 eggs
 
1 1/4 cups sugar
 
1/2 cup milk
 
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
 
2 tablespoons cornmeal
 
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
 
1/4 teaspoon salt
 
Ground nutmeg

Directions

1. Prepare pastry for 1-crust pie; use to line 8-inch pie plate and make high stand-up edge. Set aside.
2. Preheat oven to 300°F. In 2-quart saucepan over low heat, melt butter or margarine. With wire whisk or fork, beat in eggs, sugar, milk, flour, cornmeal, vanilla, salt, and 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg until blended. Pour egg mixture into piecrust; sprinkle with nutmeg.
3. Bake pie 1 hour or until knife inserted 1 inch from edge comes out clean. Cool pie on wire rack. Refrigerate.
