Cherry Sauce Recipe
This beautiful cherry sauce is prepared with cherry jam and red wine. Simmered gently and finished, this cherry sauce can be used in main courses as for desserts too.
Ingredients
4 tablespoons Morello cherry jam
4 tablespoons red wine
Directions
Using a wooden spoon, combine the two ingredients in a small saucepan and stir over a gentle heat.
Bring to simmering point and simmer very gently without a lid for 5 minutes.
This can be made ahead and reheated before serving.
Note: it is important to use Morello cherry jam and no other variety.
