Cherry-Nut Dessert Bread Recipe
Ingredients
1 8-oz. bottle maraschino cherries
3/4 c. butter or margarine
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. halved nuts
1 tsp. Vanilla
Directions
Drain cherries, reserving syrup; add enough water to cherry syrup to equal 1 cup liquid.
Cream butter and sugar; beat in eggs.
Sift flour, salt and baking powder together; add to creamed mixture alternately with cherry liquid.
Mix lightly; add nuts, cherries and vanilla, stirring only until mixed.
Place in greased loaf pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
