Ingredients
1 1/2 Cups Sugar
1/2 Cup Butter
2 Eggs, well beaten
2 1/4 Cups Sifted Flour
1 1/2 Tsp. Salt
1 1/2 Cups Liquid:
Cherry Juice with Sour Milk to make 1 1/2 cups or Buttermilk
2 Squares Chocolate, melted
20 Cherries, cut rather fine
Frosting:
2 Cups Sugar
1 Stick Butter
2 Squares Chocolate
1 Cup Hot Water
Directions
Cream sugar and butter; melt chocolate and add to ingredients.
Add wellbeaten eggs.
Mix flour and salt and add with liquid to batter.
Add cherries, cut up.
Pour into greased and floured cake pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes, finish at 325 degrees.
Boil to 236 degrees, add 1/2 cup buttercool and beat.
