Cherry Cheese Pie Recipe
This Cherry Cheese Pie was a big hit the last time I tried it for a party at home. You would really want to try out this easy and simple recipe fpr Cherry Cheese Pie - this one is an improvization of my mama's masterpiece!
Ingredients
1 No. 2 can sour red cherries
1 envelope unflavored gelatine
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon grated lemon rind
1 3-ounce package cream cheese
1 tablespoon milk
1 9-inch baked pie shell
Directions
Drain cherries.
To the juice add enough water to make 1 1/2 cups of liquid.
Place in a saucepan with the gelatine, sugar and lemon rind.
Bring almost to a boil over very low heat.
Cool until the consistency of unbeaten egg white.
Mix cream cheese and milk together until smooth.
Spread on the bottom of the pie shell.
Spread cherries over cheese.
Pour syrup over cherries.
Chill in the refrigerator until firm.
Makes one 9-inch pie.
