 1 l-qt. can red or black pitted cherries
 1 cup claret or sherry wine or orange juice
 Cinnamon1 1/2 Teaspoon
 Sugar1/4 Cup (16 tbs)
 Lemon1/2 , finely sliced
 Water2 Cup (16 tbs)
 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1/4 cup water

Directions

Drain cherries, reserving juice.
In a saucepan, combine cherry juice, orange juice or wine, cinnamon, sugar, water and lemon slices.
Simmer for 15 minutes..
Strain and add cornstarch which has been blended with the 1/4 cup water.
Cook, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes.
