Cherry Sauce Recipe
This spicy Cherry Sacue is sure irresisitble ! I love this sweet fruity sacue with spicy meatballs or ham. You can try this as a dessert topping for cakes too. Try it in your own unique way. Tell me how you liked eating this Cherry Sauce.
Ingredients
1 can (16 ounces) water-pack pitted red cherries
1/2 cup sugar
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/8 teaspoon ground allspice
Directions
1. Drain cherries; pour liquid into a 1-cup measuring cup. Add water to make 3/4 cup liquid. Reserve cherries.
2. Mix sugar, cornstarch and allspice in a 1-quart glass measuring pitcher. Add liquid gradually, stirring until smooth. Cook uncovered in microwave oven 3 minutes at High, or until sauce comes to boiling and is thickened.
3. Stir cherries into sauce. Heat uncovered in microwave oven to serving temperature (about 1 minute at High).
