Sweet Cherry Pie Recipe

1 slice enriched white bread, made into crumbs
1/2 cup sweet cherries, pitted
1/4 cup water
Artificial sweetener to equal 1 tablespoon sugar, or to taste
1/2 envelope (1 1/2 teaspoons) unflavored gelatin
Drop cherry extract
1 teaspoon imitation (or diet) margarine
Directions
Sprinkle 3/4 of the crumbs into the bottom of a small, round ovenproof dish.
Cook cherries in small saucepan with water, sweetener, and gelatin.
When cherries are soft, add cherry extract, and pour over crumbs in pan.
Top with remaining crumbs.
Bake at 350° F. until brown.
Remove from oven, top with margarine, put back in warm oven to melt margarine and serve at once.
