Cherry Conserve Recipe
Cherry Conserve is a delicious recipe that you will simply love to prepare for your loved ones. I am sure, once you try this, you will always crave for some more.
Ingredients
2 pounds sweet cherries, pitted
1 orange
4 cups sugar
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1 cup seedless raisins
1 cup chopped almonds, filberts, or pecans
Directions
The cherries may be chopped, halved, or used whole.
Seed the orange and slice very thin (or run through the food chopper).
Mix the cherries, sliced orange, sugar, and lemon juice in a large pan; cook slowly, stirring, until the mixture is thick and transparent. (Check consistency by putting a little on a plate and chilling quickly in the freezer.) Add the raisins and nuts 5 minutes before removing from the heat.
Pack hot into hot, sterilized jars and seal immediately according to manufacturer's instructions.
