Cherry Compote Recipe
Ingredients
| Ripe cherries- 2 lb | ||
| Sugar | 6 Ounce | |
| Cinnamon stick | 1 | |
| Strip of lemon rind | ||
| Red wine | 1/4 Pint | |
Directions
GETTING READY
1. Start by removing the stalks and stones from the cherries, take the cherries and wash and dry them thoroughly
MAKING
2. In a saucepan, place the cherries with sugar, stir properly and also macerate 2 hours
3. In the same saucepan, now add the cinnamon stick, lemon rind and wine,boil it, and simmer for about 15 minutes, till cherries turn tender
4. Take the pan off from the heat and let the mixture in it cool down, throw away the cinnamon stick and lemon rind
5. In individual dishes, spoon the fruit and liquor into it and chill it for 2 hours
SERVING
6. Spoon the compote in dessert bowls, dollop with plain yogurt or vanilla bean ice cream and serve immediately
