Cherries Jubilee Recipe

I have made something close to this Cherries Jubilee before. And hence, I had expected this Cherries Jubilee to turn out this nice. Cook it to realize how fabulous it is!

Ingredients

 
1 1/2 pints vanilla ice cream
 
1 10-ounce jar red-currant jelly
 
2 17-ounce cans pitted dark sweet cherries, well drained
 
1/2 cup brandy

Directions

1. Scoop ice cream into 6 desert bowls.
2. At table, in medium skillet or chafing dish over medium heat, heat currant jelly, stirring gently, until melted and smooth. Add cherries; heat until simmering. Pour in brandy; heat, without stirring, for 1 minute; light brandy with match. Spoon flaming cherries over ice cream.
