Chef s Salad Recipe
This chef's salad is a meaty vegetable salad prepared with ham and chicken. Prepared with added cheese and chopped egg whites, the chef's salad is filling and heavy and can be served with a main course for a full meal.
Ingredients
1 small head Boston lettuce
2 thin slices reduced sodium ham
2 thin slices cooked turkey or chicken breast
2 slices low sodium Swiss or American cheese
2 thin slices red onion, separated into rings
1 hard cooked egg white, coarsely chopped
1 medium size ripe tomato, cored and cut into 8 wedges
Directions
Wash the lettuce and pat dry with paper towels; tear into bite size pieces.
Cut the ham, turkey, and cheese into matchstick strips.
Arrange equal amounts of the lettuce and onion rings on 2 salad plates.
Top with equal portions of the ham, turkey, and cheese.
Garnish with the egg white and the tomato wedges.
