Cheesy Beef Rice Bake Recipe
Ingredients
1 pound ground beef or ground pork
1 clove garlic, minced
1 cup long grain rice
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
3 cups water
1 cup shredded carrot
2 teaspoons instant beef bouillon granules
1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes
1/2 teaspoon minced dried onion
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon dried basil, crushed
1/2 cup shredded american cheese
Directions
In large saucepan cook ground beef or ground pork and garlic till meat is browned.
Drain off fat.
Remove from pan and set aside.
In same saucepan cook uncooked rice in butter or margarine till golden brown, stirring frequently.
Stir in water, carrot, bouillon granules, parsley, dried onion, salt and basil.
Bring to boiling.
Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 5 minutes.
Stir in meat mixture.Turn into a 11/2-quart casserole.
Cover; bake in 325° oven for 45 minutes, stirring twice.
Sprinkle with shredded american cheese.
Bake, uncovered, about 5 minutes longer or till cheese melts.
