Cheesy Waldorf Salad Recipe
Cheesy waldorf salad is a fruited vegetable salad. Made with apples, lettuce and celery, the cheesy waldorf salad is filled with walnuts along with delicious provolobe cheese. Dressed with mayonnaise along with honey and vinegar, this fruity, nutty waldorf salad is a notch above the rest.
Ingredients
1/3 cup mayonnaise or reduced-fat mayonnaise
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon cider vinegar
4 small or 3 large apples
4 ounces Provolone cheese
2 ribs celery, thinly sliced
1/2 cup walnuts or pecans, toasted and chopped, divided
Red leaf lettuce leaves
Directions
Combine mayonnaise, honey and vinegar in large bowl until blended.
Core apples; cut enough into 1/2-inch pieces to equal 4 cups.
Cut cheese into cubes.
Add apples, cheese, celery and 1/4 cup walnuts; stir to coat.
At this point the salad may be refrigerated, covered with plastic wrap, up to 8 hours.
To serve, line individual salad plates with lettuce, then top with salad.
Sprinkle remaining 1/4 cup walnuts over each serving.
