Cheesy Vegetable Casserole Recipe

Ingredients
4 medium onions, sliced
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon basil
1/4 teaspoon pepper
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
1/2 cup seasoned dry bread crumbs
Paprika
4 medium tomatoes (about 1 1/2 lb.), sliced
6 slices American cheese (1 oz. ea.)
Directions
Cook onions in medium glass bowl, covered with plastic wrap, at HIGH 4 1/2 to 5 1/2 minutes; stir once.
Stir in salt, basil and pepper.
Heat butter in small glass bowl at HIGH 1 to 1 1/2 minutes, or until melted; stir in bread crumbs and paprika.
In 2-quart casserole, alternately layer half the tomatoes, onions and cheese; top with remaining tomatoes and onions.
Cover with plastic wrap.
Cook at HIGH 10 to 12 minutes.
Top with remaining cheese, then bread crumb mixture; let stand, covered, minutes before serving.
