Cheesy Corn Bread Recipe
Ingredients
4 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups yellow cornmeal
2/3 cup sugar
3 tablespoons baking powder
1 tablespoon salt
1 cup shortening
3 cups milk
4 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup finely shredded cheddar cheese
Directions
In a large bowl, combine the first five ingredients; cut in shortening until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
In a small bowl, combine milk and eggs; stir into dry ingredients just until blended.
Pour into a greased 13-in.x 9-in.x 2-in.baking pan.
Sprinkle with cheese.
Bake at 400° for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
Cut into squares.
