Ingredients

 Burger mixture
 Breadcrumbs1 1/2 Ounce
 Minced onion1 Tablespoon, grated
 Beef8 Ounce, minced
 1 small egg to bind
 Cheese rarebit mixture
 Butter/Margarine1 Ounce
 Mustard1 Teaspoon (Leveled), made
 Cheddar Cheese6 Ounce, grated
 Milk2 Tablespoon
 4 hamburger buns or soft rolls
 Salt To Taste
 Pepper To Taste
 Pinch salt and cayenne pepper
 Pinch salt and cayenne pepper

Directions

Mix 'burger' ingredients together, divide into equal portions-and shape into round flat cakes slightly larger than the buns.
Prepare the rarebit mixture.
Cream the butter or margarine with the seasonings; add grated cheese and milk and mix well.
Grill or fry the hamburgers for 2-3 minutes on each side.
Spread a generous helping of the rarebit mixture over both sides of each; split hamburger bun and grill to a golden brown.
Put a cooked hamburger on bottom of the grilled bun and close.
Serve hot with mustard or ketchup and pickled onions.
