1 bar (1/4-Ib.) butter or margarine
 
1/2 pound grated sharp cheese
 
1/4 teaspoon salt
 
Dash of cayenne pepper
 
1 cup, plus 2 tablespoons flour, sifted before measuring
 
Pecan halves

Directions

Let butter or margarine soften slightly in the mixing bowl.
Add cheese, salt and cayenne and mix until well blended.
Add flour and mix well.
Shape dough into 3 rolls, about 1 1/2.
inches in diameter.
Wrap in waxed paper and chill overnight in the refrigerator.
When ready to serve, heat the oven to moderately hot (375°F.).
Cut the chilled rolls into 1/8 -inch slices and place on ungreased cookie sheets.
Place a pecan half on each slice and bake 11 to 13 minutes or until lightly brown around the edges
