Ingredients

 
1/4 cup water
 
1 tablespoon butter
 
1/8 teaspoon salt
 
1/4 cup flour
 
1 egg
 
1 tablespoon grated Cheddar cheese

Directions

In a saucepan combine the water, butter and salt.
Bring to boil over high heat.
Reduce heat and add the flour, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat and add the egg, mixing well.
Blend in the cheese and stir to make a smooth batter.
Lightly grease a baking sheet and drop the batter with a teaspoon onto the sheet.
Bake at 375 degrees for fifteen minutes, or until golden brown.
Float the cheese puffs on hot soup, or you can cut a slit in each ball and fill with grated cheese.
