Cheese Zebras Recipe
Cheese Zebras is a delicious and easy to prepare recipe. I bet, once served at a party, you will get a lot of compliments for this Cheese Zebras.
Ingredients
6 tablespoons butter
4 egg yolks from hard boiled eggs, sieved
1/4 teaspoon salt
Freshly ground black pepper
Few drops Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan or Gouda cheese
4 thin slices dark pumpernickel bread
Directions
Beat the butter until soft.
Blend in the egg yolks, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce and cheese until the mixture is smooth.
Cover a slice of pumpernickel bread with a layer of this paste, exactly as thick as the slice of pumpernickel bread.
Alternate layers of cheese paste with pumpernickel bread.
Wrap in aluminum foil and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 1/2 hours.
Cut with a sharp knife into thin slices.
Arrange the "zebra's" on a platter garnished with lettuce leaves.
